So, I was recently (read: some time within the past six months) reading something... somewhere... about quenching swords in salt water. Possibly in a fic, possibly discussion about historical probability/modern methods, possibly just something someone mentioned in passing. I know I am not giving you all a lot to go on, but does anyone know what I'm talking about?
If not... what do you know about quenching metalworks, specifically salt v. fresh water? Because what I know about it could fill a small thimble.

There are no words for how dismayed, scared, disgusted I am about Bush spying on people. He acknowledges that it's illegal and what's his justification?

...including abandoning our civil liberties? Fuck you, George Bush. No, FUCK YOU. You don't get to have your fucking Evil Overlord campaign and then justify it by saying *I* want you to do it. You don't speak for me, you have no right to speak for me, and if there were any justice in the world, you'd be in prison right now.
The president, who was visibly angry, also suggested that a New York Times report which had revealed the monitoring on Friday had been irresponsible.
America's enemies had "learned information they should not have", he said.
You want to talk about irresponsible? What in the hell are you protecting, if you've completely abandoned everything our government is supposed to represent? YOU and your ilk are America's worst enemies, Bush, and the sooner America figures this out, the better.
